Update on 62 Starfire ventilation vacuum control panel
First of all I can't believe that none of this curious mob has had one of these valves apart before, then again I don't see many Starfire posts anymore.
Back to the valve. I had a spare, so I took it apart and found that it was a metal to metal rotary sliding valve, very simple in operation. I put some bearing grease on the mating surfaces of the valve and put it back together and wall la it works. I hooked it up to the vent door diaphragms and all worked as advertised.
I summarized that the felt on the end of the was to put a drop of oil on periodically to keep the valve working properly.
