350 balancer question

I was going thru my pile of engines and found a 350 with a larger (thicker) balancer than my 455s. Is the engine anything special? Unfortunately, this is the only small block I have to compare it to. It is the same diameter, just thicker than the 455 and 425 stuff I have.

Dimensions:
Outer step: 7.140" o.d., .680" thick.
Inner step: 6.485" o.d., .1.155" thick.
Outer step recess from hub: .250"
Weight: 12 lbs., 3 oz.
Note: There are several "stepped" style factory balancers. Be sure to check the sizes listed above to confirm a W-31 balancer.

Mine is smooth, no step. Didn't think I was lucky enough to find a W-31 shortblock. If so, you can bet your bottom dollar I would have bought a lottery ticket before my luck ran out!

Seems like a lot of the earlier 350 (68-70) were bigger than the usual balancers, but not nearly as big as the W31 unit.
