'55 324 Rebuild
Started this rebuild over a year ago, and I'll post my progress on here, if there is any interest?

Alright then, here we go...
Of course the engine was stuck, and if you've worked on these engines before, you know that you can't get the transmission unbolted, if you can't turn the crank.
So the first objective was to get it unstuck.
Let the party begin:

Heads are off and I'm already fearing the worst.

That's right, non detergent oil, and very few oil changes is what turns into this:

So then I started treating the cylinders to get it unstuck:

Externals came off real easy. Didn't break a single bolt.

When I drained the oil, it seemed like there was more water then oil in there.

The distributer was kind of a pain to get out, since the cam didn't turn, and all the sludge didn't help...

I build me a tool with 4 foot extension, to break it loose, and I could finally take the hydramatic off.
Then I could put it on the engine stand and work the crank out.

In the meantime, I started tearing the heads apart.

So then I was able to drop everything off at the machine shop, to get it checked out.
