Stall Speed

What are the benefits of a stall speed? I installed a 2500 TCI stall in my Trans Am and did not notice much of a difference. Comp Cams recommended it for a cam I was going to use. The cam was not used because you cannot use a roller set up with a egr intake manifold, stock or Edelbrock. Found that out the hard way. Any input?

it is a little like holding the clutch on a manual till it is at a higher RPM them letting it go. it puts you in the engines power before it grabs.

it won't hurt anything other than the extra gas that you use. the 2500 is not to bad but it will increase transmission temps for street use. i am not sure what stock is but my guess would be 1500 area

I put a hi stall converter in mine about 20 years ago and hated it. I went back to stock. If I remember correctly my stock converter is a 2000 stall 12" converter. (Then again, I wasn't racing)
