I am doing a manual conversion on my 1971 442. Where do I cut the floor for the shifter to come through?

I have the the floor section that has the factory cut hole.

After you install the trans, you will see where the shifter goes. Different shifters take different hole positions.

Where can I find a diagram of where it should be from factory?

Im doing the same project and was wondering the same thing somewhat? Im gonna put the trans in without the shifter handle and just the shifter body on and mark the floor straight up from it and slowly cut away til the handle can go in. Then start going through the gears and trimming as necessary til the shifter handle doesnt hit the side of the holes. Then I will take the shifter tunnel hump I bought from the parts place and put it over the shifter handle and set my console in and go through the gears and make sure it doesnt hit sides of console and then mark where tunnel hump goes exactly and trim up hole and weld it in and seam seal it and put it all together. I have searched for pics and diagrams also but cant seem to find any? If you find a better way please let me know.
