New Hughes 25HD BPO
my new converter came today.
for those that have the newer HUGHEs does this look correct?
it’s now a bolt on vs threaded connections.
I thought I had read they had switched to the smaller case and went with this style.
just want to confirm.
Also if you have one of these is there a preferred bolt length in 3/8 #8 grade?
it did not come with the as advertised hardware…🙄
thanks

Supposedly it has to do with the available cores. I just installed a TCI 2000 to 2200 stall converter with the same setup. It bolted my flexplate with out issue other the 330 crank pilot diameter.

are the crank pilot holes tight with these?
what size bolts did you use?

No, the 330 cranks seem to be smaller in the pilot area. It came with 3/8" x 3/4". I ended using 1" bolts and needed 2 washers to fill the gap the torque converter was away from the flexplate. There was room for three for sure, didn't want to jam it tight against the pump.

I’ll check my crank pilot Hole against the converter tip.
the instructions said I might need to enlarge the holes for 7/16 bolts.
I guess I should have some washers on hand also and maybe 1 1/4 bolts length.
