1948 model 60 steering column lubrication

Does anyone out there know how to lubricate the steering column? Mine seems to be binding. Thanks

There is probably a bearing at the top of the shaft, beneath the steering wheel. Other than that, I don't think there is a place that can bind. It should be just a shaft inside a tube on down to the steering box. The steering shaft is just an extension of the steering box.

Thanks for the advice. Perhaps then it is the king pins. I've had trouble lubing these. The grease just doesn't want to flow into the joint on one side, even after freeing the ball in the zerk fitting. The car was sitting idle before I got it. Guess I need to get new fittings. I dont want to dismantle the king pins as they seem in good order.

It might free up with use, but you definitely want to get some grease everywhere it's needed.
Fun with original cars...
