Glove Box Door Lock/Button

Anyone know:

1) How to get this lock mechanism out of the door?
2) If I *can* get it out, where to source a new one?
3) Any other info (short of duct tape and/or sheet metal screws ) that would help me keep the door shut?

I think I put up a picture of the broken part of the clasp. I would have liked to repair it, but the little "sliding tang" is only half there.

Oh, it on the '55, if that matters.

Redux Pics Glove Box

When in doubt, read the book!!!!

So, now I guess the only question that remains is where to find a lock mech/body. Looks like the tumbler is okay.

Thanks for not flaming me!!!!

hey I didn’t see how you got the lock out? I have the same thing and I’m trying to get mine out but I don’t have a key and it is unlocked

for sure. Since mine was unlocked and I didn’t have a key, I just used plyers and twisted the round Crome piece that holds the cylinder in and that was it, it just came out. The round Crome piece just screws in to hold it in place, it was super easier than I thought
