Slant Pan Hydromatic Overhauls

Well, after several tries and a lot of patience, I have a well working transmission in my '55. My local transmission shop said they could overhaul anything so long as they could get parts. I put them to the test. They now have a guy that is fairly conversant in Slant pans. So if anyone needs transmission work, (I did ask them if they wanted the business--and they said yes,) this would be a good, knowledgeable place to go.

Williams Transmission, 238 Soscal Ave, Napa, CA 707-252-6121
Ron answers the phones, and Jack did the work on the Hydromatic.

I realize, as the people in the old car hobby age, that the number of competent shops are dwindling. To find this place willing to do the work was a stroke of luck. They did not ask for an endorsement. I feel the info is important enough to distribute.

Moderators, please do not move this thread--it is fairly item specific to Slant Pan Transmissions in the vintage Olds section.

When I had my 54, I had the slant pan rebult in 2017. The guy was a retired transmission guy and was about 77 at that time. I knew the time would come when it would be near impossible to get anybody to even touch one. I had to have somebody else R & R it. He passed away about 2-3 year ago.

Yeah, seems to be more and more a familiar story.
