Taking steering column loose on 55 olds 98

I'm new to this with limited mechanical ability. I'm trying lower my steering column from the dash. Have separated the bracket held by the allen wrench screws. Looks like it has to be taken loose a floorboard as well. I have the service manual but it has nothing on the steering column. Appreciate any suggestions.

The column is attached directly to the steering box and it’s rigid all the way to the steering wheel. Unless you loosen the steering box at the frame you won’t be able to lower it like you would like to
