Well it’s outta my hands now.
Cleaned up the brake pedal assembly and installed and hooked up the MC.
With the fenders and wheel wells on I fit the hood on and then delivered it to my paint and body guy.
It was a 770mile round trip as I couldn’t find anyone locally that could do it without a 2 year timeline.

I have to admit I had some serious separation anxiety when I left the car.
It’s been about four years since this car has not been in my garage.
It going to be weird not working on it every weekend for awhile.

Very cool. You have definitely done that car justice. Great work. I may have missed it but what color are you going with? Again. Great job with everything. 👍

Well, the car is getting done. The fella says it will be ready for blocking in February, ready for paint March.
Im ok with that timeline.

A serious shout out to American Autowire for turning an order around in 10 days!
I sent out my fuse block and dash harness to be rebuilt and got that and a bunch of other harnesses back on the 12th!!!
Thats unreal for this post Covid world. I originally wanted to use M&H but there timeline was 26 weeks.

I can’t wait to see this thing back in its original Lucerne Blue.

Progress. He’s still working on panel gaps but the bulk of the work is done.
I need to get this by April to get it to the OCA Nats!

Working on the sub-assemblies now. First up are the vent windows.
After not liking the Metro Softseals, I went with Steele Rubber which were much better( but very pricey,)

I used about 5 different vent windows assemblies to come up with 2 very nice finish windows.
-cleaned frames
-polished chrome
-cleaned glass
-changed best clear glass into best frames
-learned how to buff stainless
-cleaned all hardware in vinegar
-reassembled.

feels good to have another project I’ve never done before turn out well.

IT WAS QUITE A PROJECT!
But turned out nice.

Rallye469: When you get around to it, I believe somewhere I have misc.pieces of new door window trim-the pieces that clip on top the door with the rubber. This is left over from my 64 F-85 post car...PM if you need anything and I find the stuff and take some pictures. I don't know about now but back when I was building the F-85 this stuff was not an easy find...

Looking back at your pictures and was wondering what year pedals and brace are you using?

Nice!
Top Shelf build. I like how the body shop re striped the car to bare metal.

Thanks for the compliments guys, it’s getting to the final stages now!
The guy I’m using said, “no offense, but if I’m guaranteeing this car I want to see every last inch of it” - I couldn’t blame him.

Mike, not R code, just 15x7 / 15x6.
Thats the brake support that came in this car.

Finally got to shoot some color on the interior pieces.
Not sure I’ll use these armrests, but the originals are in sad condition.
Theyve really yellowed over time.

Looking good Pete. I think I might pause and build me a garage before I continue work on mine. My chrome should be ready soon, so that is gonna hit my allowance for the year. lol

What part is this?
I have not seen this part in my 65 cutlass.

That holds the turnsignal switch wires in place on the underside of the steering column.

X2 I i was wondering why I had that part left over when I put the 64 F-85 together! It's in a box in the garage and car is long gone...

I see it now. I have never taken the steering column apart so never noticed that part but there it is.
